Sain valmista aikaan. Huomenna mennään nimijuhliin, tuliaisena tämä mekko.
I finished a teeny tiny baby dress. A gift for a newborn who gets her name tomorrow.

Lanka on Catanian puuvillalankaa, josta niiiin tykkään, ei halkeile yhtään, aivan ilo neuloa.
I love the cotton yarn by Catania. It's a joy to knit, it never split. And the colours!

The pattern is well written. I'm not sure if it's me or are there some mistakes in stitch count every now and there, in the decrease sections, but they were manageable. Or at least I guess I figured them out corrctly. I'm pleased with the outcome and that's what matters.

Hyvä ohje on. En ole varma oliko omassa ymmärryksessä vikaa, mutta ohjeen silmukkamäärät saattoivat heittää siellä sun täällä, erityisesti kavennusten kohdalla. Pärjäsin kuitenkin, ja järkeilin kuitenkin aika mukavan lopputuloksen.

I've never done any embroidery. I tried to google how to do it and watched a video or three. I decided to go with my instinct and sort of crocheted the ugly tree shapes to the hem. At first I crocheted the shapes from the front side. I thought that it looked too bulky, and just by accident happened to see the other side of the work, and hey! That ws exactly how I wanted my stitches to look like. The yarn should have been a little darker brown to match the ribbon better, and to be more visible from the purple knitting, but that's what I had in stash and it had to be it. It's Novita's Tennessee. Very splitty.
To prevent cuteness overload I decided to go with uglyish tree doodles.

En ole koskaan aiemmin kirjonut mitään (lieneekö se edes kirjomista, en tiiä!) Googlailin, opiskelin videoita. Lopulta päädyin tekemään jotain jotenkin. Kuten aika monesti. Virkkasin Novitan Tennesseellä (kauhean halkeavaista, en jaksaisi purkaa ja tehdä uudelleen mitään tämän isompaa työtä, yh.), neuleen etupuolelta, mutta lopputulos oli liian paksua minun makuuni. Onnekseni satuin vilkaisemaan työn taakse, ja tajusin että se puoli näyttää juuri siltä mitä tavoittelin. Purin puolitoista puuta ja tein uusiksi, työn takaa käsin.
Ettei ihan liian söpöstelyksi menisi, "kirjoin" tuommoisia puun rumiluksia. Tykkään.

P.S. I've let my dear Paulie to rest too long. My gauge has changed like three times while knitting it. I'm still hoping for the best. Still 1.5 sleeves to go, and buttons to choose and sew on.

J.K. Paulie on ollut työn alla jo liian kauan. Tiheys ja käsiala vaihtelee kuin kesäkuun sää. Toinen kohta on vinksin ja toinen vonksin. Äh. Puserran kuitenkin eteenpäin, ja toivon parasta. 1,5 hihaa tekemättä, napit valitsematta ja ompelematta. Lanka on edelleen ihanaa ja ohje älyttömän hyvin kirjoitettu.
